About the position

The Production Manager serves as the leader for the AST Steam department in our Brooklyn Park, Minnesota location. In this role, the Production Manager - Steam manages processes, supervises team members, and ensures growth and continuous improvement of the Steam Sterilization Services business. This position is crucial as it acts as the main operational contact for customers, partnering closely with sales on new steam opportunities and routine customer interactions. The Production Manager is responsible for accountability and ownership of all Steam nonconformances, customer complaints, and CAPA processes. The role involves performing technical reviews of control chart reports and providing direction on events. The Production Manager facilitates on-site and virtual customer audits and tours related to the contract steam service. Additionally, this position acts as the Business Process Owner of Contract Steam, owning the processes related to steam. The Production Manager supports site and validation team questions and operational reviews for steam protocols, execution, and final reports. Leading steam operators by providing work direction, training, and coaching on the Steam Sterilization Standard Operating Procedures is also a key responsibility. Furthermore, the Production Manager leads continuous improvement activities related to steam operation, including Safety, Delivery, Quality, and Cost (SDQC), as well as Key Performance Indicators (KPI's).

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technical or Business Operations discipline, preferred.
  • 8 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a related field or industry.
  • High School diploma / GED plus 10 years of supervisory/leadership experience in a related field/industry.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to build partnerships to grow the business.
  • Strong customer service orientation with both internal and external customers.

Nice-to-haves

  • CISS- Moist Heat (MH) Certification, preferred.
