About the position

The Production Manager/Supervisor role at our Leesville, SC facility is focused on overseeing the weave room operations, ensuring adherence to safety policies, and promoting continuous improvement initiatives. The position requires effective management of personnel, coordination with other departments, and the ability to address daily operational challenges to meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Implement Company safety policies and procedures and promote 5S and good housekeeping practices for department facilities.
• Promote continuous improvement initiatives and quality improvement efforts, monitoring and reporting processes.
• Participate in and facilitate monthly safety and communication meetings with department personnel.
• Direct and assign work to all weave room personnel, adjusting as needed to meet the production schedule and customer priorities while staying within budget.
• Shift weave room personnel in a fair manner to meet the needs of production.
• Conduct department interviews, present department orientation, and oversee training of all new shift employees.
• Coordinate and cooperate with other departments as a team to help meet Company goals and objectives.
• Manage the day-to-day activities within departments to meet expectations and identify and implement solutions to daily issues to address root causes.
• Perform any other task necessary for the smooth operation of the department as a whole to ensure all employees have the tools needed to be successful.
• Investigate labor and material variances and identify and implement opportunities for improvements.
• Utilize company MRP system to identify warps required to meet the needs of production plan and create work orders for new orders of Greige and yarn dye.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and perform basic math; post-secondary training or education is a plus.
• Textile manufacturing experience required, ideally with knowledge of weaving and package dyeing processes.
• Minimum of 5 years in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word at an intermediate level.
• Experience with ERP systems (MAPICS preferred).
• Familiarity with AS400 data retrieval and entry.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, with the ability to implement Lean principles effectively.
