About the position

The Production Manager at AEG Presents plays a crucial role in the successful execution of live events at The Roxy. This position is responsible for advancing all event details for shows, ensuring that the production team is well-coordinated and that all contractual obligations are met. The Production Manager will work closely with various stakeholders, including artists, venue staff, and management, to create a seamless experience for both performers and audiences. This role requires a strong focus on budget management, as the Production Manager must track and monitor all costs associated with each event, ensuring that spending remains within the agreed limits. In addition to budget oversight, the Production Manager serves as a liaison between the venue and the artist, ensuring that all production needs are met. This includes collaborating with talent buyers to develop tour schedules, build offers, and create show budgets. The Production Manager must also address any production issues that arise during the event timeline, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. The role involves fostering relationships with artists, tour crews, and venue personnel to ensure effective communication and successful execution of each show. The Production Manager will oversee the load-in and load-out processes, manage production crew schedules, and handle payroll for production staff. After the show, they may be responsible for show settlement, ensuring that all parties are compensated accordingly and that all relevant information is submitted to accounting. Additionally, the Production Manager may be tasked with production management and logistics for other projects within the venue as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Liaison between venue and artist to ensure all production needs are met and the contract is being adhered to.
  • Work with talent buyer and artist to work out a tour schedule, build offers and create show budget.
  • Work closely with the venue to make sure everything is in working order and that all the show needs are being addressed and met.
  • Responsible for solving any production issues that may arise at any given point in the show timeline.
  • Develop and foster relationships with artist, tour crew, artist management, venues and other important personnel to ensure streamlined communication and successful execution of each show on tour.
  • Set a workable budget for the show and make sure all the expenses are being tracked and are within the limits of spending.
  • Oversee the load in and load out of the show from artists, vendors and all that apply.
  • Manage production crew by interfacing and making production arrangements with local labor vendors, creating production crew schedules, diffusing employee relation situations and conflict resolution, review, approve and submit payroll for production staff.
  • Responsible for show settlement after the show has concluded, ensuring that artist(s) and venue are paid accordingly and closing out the show by submitting all pertinent information to accounting.
  • May also be responsible for hiring local labor, rentals and other show needs.
  • May be responsible for production management and logistics at other locations, venues, or projects within the venue as directed.

Requirements

  • A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year) in a related field
  • A minimum of 5-7 years of related work experience in large scale lead concert production.
  • Excellent overall knowledge of production process (advance, load in, show, load out)
  • Knowledge of the functions and operations of a large-scale concert venue.
  • Working knowledge of technical aspects of concert production with ability to solve technical problems.
  • Ability to create and maintain budgets.
  • Experience working with Unions (specifically with building and settling labor calls).
  • Well versed in Federal and State OSHA compliance regulations.
  • Ability to effectively interact with all levels of management, promoters, suppliers, guests.
  • Ability to multi-task and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work a demanding schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, double shifts.
  • Excellent verbal, written and public relations skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
