About the position

As a Production Manager at UniFirst, you will play a crucial role in leading the production department and ensuring that the company's quality policies are integrated into the department's culture. This position requires a proactive and motivated leader who will work closely with the General Manager on various aspects of business planning, process improvements, safety initiatives, and employee relations enhancements. You will be responsible for fostering a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and collaboration among team members. In this role, you will ensure that customer and supplier requirements are effectively communicated throughout the production department and across other departments within the organization. You will conduct performance appraisals, counsel departmental personnel, and maximize divisional profits to contribute to both short and long-term goals. Additionally, you will participate in achieving divisional growth objectives, focusing on customer retention and delivering quality products while maintaining a well-kept facility that enhances the company's reputation. Safety is a top priority at UniFirst, and as a Production Manager, you will manage departmental activities related to safety, health, and environmental issues, ensuring compliance with corporate policies and federal, state, and local regulations. You will also oversee inventory management and purchasing, ensuring that the production department has the necessary resources to operate efficiently. Your leadership will be vital in hiring, developing, and leading a successful team, while also adhering to all safety policies and medical guidelines. Responsibilities

• Ensure that the UniFirst Quality Policy becomes part of the Production Department culture and ISO certification.
• Support the determination, education, and implementation of guiding principles to the UniFirst Mission Statement and strategic plan.
• Communicate customer/supplier requirements throughout the Production Department and with other departments.
• Conduct performance appraisals and counsel departmental personnel.
• Maximize divisional profits to provide short and long-term contributions.
• Participate in attaining divisional growth goals for customer retention and quality products.
• Manage departmental activities regarding safety, health, and environmental issues.
• Oversee inventory and purchasing processes.
• Ensure maintenance, repair, and housekeeping of the building and all its equipment.
• Hire, lead, and develop a successful team.
• Follow all safety policies, HACCP, and medical guidelines.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D equivalent is required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
• Bachelor's degree in an appropriate background or equivalent experience preferred.
• 3-5 years in a managerial role preferred.
• Experience with a quality management system.
• Experience with a maintenance management system.
• Familiarity with Windows Operating systems, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Valid driver's license and a safe driving record is required.
• Must meet DOT physical qualifications.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 60lbs.
