The Production Manager is a highly collaborative role that requires excellent verbal and written communication skills to work cross-functionally with Product Development, Design, and Merchandising, amongst other departments. The Production Manager will be responsible for daily functions such as communicating with overseas vendors to create and follow up on production orders and managing production schedules across multiple vendors for various product categories. The Production Manager will assist in areas such as cost, compliance, and logistics as needed. The Production Manager should possess a great attention to detail and the ability to multitask/prioritize workload and thrive in a fast-paced environment. In this role, the Production Manager promotes the adherence of the product calendar by ensuring the efficient collaboration and coordination between cross-functional partners, including Design, R&D, Merchandising, and Materials. They will research new sources of manufacturing and industry best practices to ensure continual process improvement and long-term vision. The Production Manager will assist in building the sourcing strategy in collaboration with merchants, inventory management, and design. Daily interactions with vendors will be crucial to ensure shipments are made on time with no delays to hit the company launch calendar. They will communicate to cross-functional team members any delays in production or impacts on margin with urgency. The Production Manager will work closely with Product Development to help allocate styles for development through production and proactively problem-solve to address production concerns as they arise, knowing when to escalate larger issues to management. They will gather and negotiate costing for multiple seasons and quarters, manage the flow of purchase order issuance to vendors ensuring accuracy is represented on POs, and ensure on-time delivery for all product categories. Building relationships with external partners through extensive communication and assisting with the process of onboarding new vendors will also be key responsibilities. The Production Manager will manage PPs, TOPs, and bulk approvals to ensure garments have passed testing, are meeting specifications, and color approvals.
