About the position

The Production Manager at Hiller Measurements is responsible for overseeing all production activities, including budgeting, scheduling, and personnel management. This role ensures that production meets quality standards and contract requirements while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and efficiency within the production department. The Production Manager will lead assembly technicians, manage production schedules, and coordinate with project managers to ensure successful project delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all production personnel.
  • Oversee production operations with a focus on accountability of due/delivery date adherence.
  • Establish and build relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with Project/Program Managers for successful project delivery.
  • Establish baseline metrics for production and increase production efficiency.
  • Lead a discipline-focused approach to production and implement a 5S methodology.
  • Develop, measure, train, and maintain a culture of continuous improvement in the Production Department.
  • Review, create, and refine processes to improve production performance.
  • Identify, collaborate, and integrate processes with other departments.
  • Lead team members and ensure they are equipped for success.
  • Provide input for effective training programs for production personnel.
  • Support the Operations Manager in strategic planning for operational capability and capacity.
  • Troubleshoot issues that arise during production.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and complete necessary paperwork.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to motivate/manage/supervise personnel and cultivate a positive work environment.
  • Willingness to contribute to self-directed teams.
  • Ability to maintain an effective ERP system.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective time management and ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with agile scrum methodology.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with printed circuit board, chassis, and cable harness manufacturing.
  • Understanding of ESD requirements and experience with ISO 9001 and IPC standards.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Project, Word, and Excel.

Nice-to-haves

  • IPC J-STD-001, WHMA-A-620 and/or 610 CIS or CIT (Class 3 Workmanship) preferred.
