About the position

In this position, you will supervise and coordinate activities of employees engaged in all phases of a plant operation. Reporting directly to the plant operations manager, you will prepare operation schedules and coordinate manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality meet specifications. You will implement operational strategies to assure company objectives in the areas of safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost, and profitability. This role involves managing, coaching, and developing the production supervisory team, and you will be accountable for meeting assigned site's key performance metrics including machine and labor efficiencies. You will provide guidance to departmental leaders to ensure scorecard objectives are met. Additionally, you will support the Operations Manager in managing capacity and participate in collaboration with other sites on scheduling optimization to meet internal and external customer on-time-delivery demands. You will support equipment feasibility studies and make recommendations for investment, implement capital expenditure projects, and be accountable for meeting payback expectations. Collaborating with cross-functional leaders, you will set continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence and be accountable for the execution of the production schedule. You will facilitate the escalation process for service disruptions in delivery dates and plan and allocate resources when scheduling asset downtime in support of preventative maintenance programs. Your responsibilities will also include quoting the purchase of new tooling, executing tooling repairs, and providing data and support to the EA and REA process. As the CI Project Leader for the facility, you will support the execution of the annual financial plan and monitor performance through forecasting and/or other company reports. You will provide guidance on staffing, training, employee relations, and performance management to develop and enhance the salaried and hourly production team, working closely with direct reports. Interacting with key stakeholders, you will provide technical support, explore new business opportunities, and resolve order problems or complaints. You will have oversight for operations team performance, including training documentation, investigations, disciplinary research and execution, and tracking to ensure consistent policy administration. Maintaining industry, professional, and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing professional publications will also be part of your role. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience required.
  • Green Belt Certification preferred.
  • Knowledge of methods, accepted practices, and regulatory requirements associated with safety and protection of workers and the environment.
  • Knowledge of day-to-day and strategic issues, operational requirements, and management of a manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of the physical environment and activities for managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of tools and techniques for preventing and addressing theft of assets and other threats to a manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and logistics equipment used in manufacturing, including safe usage, maintenance, and storage.
  • Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and in the optimization of manufacturing processes.
