About the position

American Aluminum Extrusion is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Manager to join our team in Roscoe, IL. This position is crucial as we embark on the next phase of our company growth. With over 20 successful years in the aluminum extrusion industry, we are committed to expanding our operations and enhancing our production capabilities. As a Production Manager, you will play a vital role in overseeing daily production operations, supporting and directing production teams, and fostering a positive work environment to achieve our production goals. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, reporting, and correcting any safety concerns on the production floor. You will develop, monitor, mentor, and ensure the timely completion of production schedules and action plans. Engaging actively with production team members, you will monitor production practices and activities, ensuring that all processes align with our quality and safety standards. Communication is key; you will provide and receive feedback continuously, assisting the Plant Manager in planning and coordinating the organization’s total manufacturing goals and objectives. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving continuous improvements in production processes and systems. You will communicate company updates and concerns consistently, holding regularly scheduled departmental meetings with production team members. Additionally, you will manage the hiring, orientation, training, and development of the production team, ensuring that all members are cross-trained and equipped to support various functions as needed. Responsibilities

• Oversee daily production operations and support production teams.
• Identify, report, and correct safety concerns on the production floor.
• Develop, monitor, and ensure timely completion of production schedules and action plans.
• Engage actively with production team members and monitor production practices.
• Communicate continuously with team members to provide and receive feedback.
• Assist the Plant Manager with planning and coordinating manufacturing goals and objectives.
• Lead continuous improvements in production processes and systems.
• Communicate company updates and concerns consistently, holding departmental meetings.
• Manage hiring, orientation, training, and development of the production team.
• Cross-train and support other functions or processes as required.

Requirements

• A minimum of five years' experience in management in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of 6S lean manufacturing processes, quality systems, and safety procedures.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and influencing skills to achieve company goals.
• High attention to detail with problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
