About the position

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production process and leading the team in a thrift store environment. This role involves ensuring that the store meets financial targets, maintains a positive customer experience, and adheres to company policies and procedures. The Production Manager will supervise various departments, manage workflow efficiencies, and promote a culture of safety and loss prevention while fostering team development and engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and direct the production process in accordance with policies and regulations.
  • Ensure the store meets financial targets and key performance metrics.
  • Supervise and lead the production team, including recruitment and training.
  • Monitor and assess team performance, providing coaching and feedback.
  • Engage with customers and donors to enhance their experience.
  • Manage item put-out conditions, production margins, and seasonal back stock.
  • Oversee quality control checks throughout the production stages.
  • Promote loss prevention and maintain a safe work environment.
  • Act as the store manager in their absence, ensuring compliance with company policies.

Requirements

  • High School diploma; post-secondary degree/diploma preferred.
  • Results-driven retail store management or industrial management experience.
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to observe, assess, and coach the work of others.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a thrift store or similar retail environment.
