About the position

The Production Manager at Horizon Goodwill Industries plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the retail store in the absence of the Store Manager. This position is responsible for ensuring that all aspects of the store run smoothly and efficiently, which includes managing backroom processes, enhancing the donation experience, driving sales, and overseeing merchandising and pricing strategies. The Production Manager is also tasked with maintaining the store's cleanliness and organization, ensuring that all merchandise is displayed attractively and safely, and that the store complies with all company policies and procedures. In addition to operational responsibilities, the Production Manager assists in supervising store personnel and training new hires. This includes coaching staff, providing constructive feedback, and supporting their development to meet specific performance metrics. The role requires a strong focus on customer service, as the Production Manager must ensure that both shoppers and donors have an exceptional experience. This involves resolving customer complaints in accordance with company policies and maintaining a positive shopping environment. The Production Manager is also responsible for maintaining efficient product flow, conducting regular audits of workstations and donation areas, and ensuring that all safety and security procedures are followed. Administrative duties such as handling cash transactions, reconciling sales, and managing store supplies are also part of the job. Responsibilities

  • Supervise and manage the retail store in the absence of the Store Manager.
  • Ensure efficient operation of backroom processes, donation experience, sales, merchandising, pricing, maintenance, and display.
  • Assist with supervising store personnel and assigned trainees.
  • Arrange store windows, displays, and promotional activities.
  • Train new hires and coach store personnel.
  • Support store personnel in achieving specific performance metrics.
  • Provide exceptional customer service and resolve customer complaints.
  • Maintain efficient product flow in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Perform regular audits on workstations and donation areas.
  • Sell merchandise and provide customer service.
  • Maintain store premises and merchandise in a clean, safe, and organized manner.
  • Follow all required safety and security procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies and store policies.
  • Receive and verify incoming merchandise from warehouse and vendors.
  • Handle cash transactions and perform cash reconciliation.
  • Perform administrative and clerical duties of store operation.
  • Receive donations and maintain accurate donation recording.
