About the position

The Production Manager at GAF is responsible for overseeing the manufacturing of residential asphalt shingles at the Mt. Vernon, Indiana plant. This role emphasizes maximizing production efficiency while ensuring quality standards, safety practices, and compliance with personnel policies. The Production Manager will lead the production team, implement continuous improvement strategies, and foster a collaborative work environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily production operations to maximize efficiency and product quality.
• Provide formal objectives and measurements for plant personnel.
• Ensure production crews are well trained and committed to safety and quality requirements.
• Meet daily production schedules and collaborate with logistics and purchasing for inventory management.
• Develop and track compliance to production department expense budgets.
• Provide leadership and direction to the production department, maintaining good employee relations.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemical or Mechanical preferred.
• Minimum four years of experience in manufacturing management with project management experience.
• Demonstrated experience in process and quality improvements and performance management.
• Experience in a high volume manufacturing operation, preferably continuous web process.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or G-Suite is a plus.
• Familiarity with standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures is helpful.
