About the position

Berry Global Group, Inc. is seeking a Production Manager to join our team in Franklin, IN. In this role, you will be responsible for establishing and leading plant safety objectives while ensuring compliance with safety policies and procedures. You will plan, organize, and direct the manufacturing function to ensure the most effective return on assets. Regular interaction with Production Frontline Leaders and production employees will be essential to provide direction and leadership, making you a visible presence in manufacturing areas. You will maintain ISO compliant manufacturing records and provide leadership and adequate resources to support site quality systems, ensuring compliance with all site quality policies and procedures. Your role will also involve supporting regional quality standard systems for commercialization, SPC, and preventive and corrective action, while ensuring compliance with the daily production schedule. Conducting daily operations meetings and periodic plant communications meetings will be part of your responsibilities, along with ensuring that budget and financial forecasts are developed and met. Collaboration with the Finance function will be necessary to provide accurate operational information, establish product costs, and update standard assumptions. You will also partner with the Supply Chain function to ensure timely, effective, and efficient procurement, planning, inventory levels, and delivery of finished goods. Additionally, you will work with the Human Resources function to ensure effective management of human capital. Your participation in long-term strategic planning will involve the optimum utilization of Berry Global assets and human resources. You will be responsible for driving the full implementation of cost improvement programs to maintain a cost-competitive edge in manufacturing. Initiating plans and processes to minimize manufacturing costs through effective utilization of manpower, equipment, facilities, materials, and capital will be crucial. Compliance with all government regulatory requirements is mandatory, and you will establish and maintain a culture of continuous improvement, quality, high performance, and process excellence. Establishing team and individual accountabilities for problem-solving and cost reduction, ensuring effective labor utilization within departments, and managing spending against budget in relation to production volume will be key aspects of your role. You will also establish management practices that encourage positive employee involvement and ensure effective communication with all employees. Training and development for the department will be part of your responsibilities, along with directing or supporting the effective implementation of investment projects approved for capacity or facility expansion and upgrades. You will supervise/manage direct reports, including decision-making for hiring, promotion, and discharge, and may lead or participate in regional or global projects. Additionally, you will provide backup for the Plant Manager as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of experience and education required.
  • 5 years minimum in a leadership role in manufacturing.
