About the position

Zip Kit Homes is seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction / Production Manager to oversee operations at our Ogalala location. This role is pivotal in ensuring that our production processes align with our commitment to quality and efficiency in the construction of modern, pre-fab, and modular kit homes. The ideal candidate will be a motivated and hard-working individual who thrives in a dynamic environment and is eager to contribute to a company that values growth and advancement opportunities. As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the construction site, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. You will lead a team of construction professionals, coordinating activities and resources to achieve production goals. Your expertise in project management and knowledge of lean manufacturing principles will be essential in optimizing our production processes and enhancing overall efficiency. The position requires a minimum of four years of experience in the construction trades, with a strong preference for candidates with backgrounds in framing, siding, and roofing. A college degree is preferred, but not mandatory. You will need to demonstrate exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as proficiency in MS Excel and Word. This role offers a unique schedule of four 10-hour days, providing employees with a three-day weekend every week, which promotes work-life balance while maintaining productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations at the Ogalala construction site.
  • Manage and coordinate construction projects to ensure timely completion.
  • Lead and supervise a team of construction professionals.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize production processes.
  • Maintain high standards of quality and safety on the job site.
  • Prepare and manage project budgets and schedules.
  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of work progress.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years experience in construction trades.
  • Project management experience is essential.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma is a plus.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of MS Excel and Word.
  • A college degree is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in framing, siding, and roofing is preferred.
