The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the overall production of the plant, with a strong emphasis on leadership development. This role is pivotal in fostering an environment and culture that prioritizes safety and continuous improvement, reflecting the company's commitment to achieving a world-class, injury-free workplace. The Production Manager will support a culture of honesty, candidness, transparency, teamwork, accountability, and goal-driven, fact-based decision-making. In this position, the Production Manager must comply with all safety, operational, and employment policies and practices while ensuring that quality requirements are met or exceeded. The role requires scheduling flexibility to accommodate the demands of a 24/7 operation. The Production Manager will develop and administer plans and programs to meet production requirements by establishing operating objectives and recommending staffing and manufacturing needs. Additionally, the Production Manager will analyze operational costs, investigate significant variances, create and implement corrective actions, and keep production management fully informed of actions taken. Utilizing fact-based team problem-solving techniques, the Production Manager will identify and resolve issues while supporting best practices through communication and cooperation with team members. The role also involves maintaining a strong internal customer focus by collaborating with other departments and support groups. The Production Manager is responsible for establishing and maintaining an effective communications program that includes communicating the plant's mission and results, as well as providing customer feedback to all team members. Maintaining high levels of team member performance and morale through ongoing monitoring, coaching, guidance, and continuous feedback is essential. The Production Manager will ensure that all team members have the proper authority to conduct their job duties and will foster an environment of continuous improvement, involvement, teamwork, and customer focus by agreeing upon goals, communicating expectations, providing training, resources, and equipment, and encouraging fact-based decision-making. Finally, the Production Manager will manage and control inventory levels according to established guidelines and ensure day-to-day compliance with quality, food safety, and prerequisite programs.
