About the position

As a Production Manager at Menasha Packaging, you will play a crucial role in implementing operational strategies that align with the company's objectives across various domains, including safety, productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost, and profitability. You will be accountable for the key performance metrics of the assigned site, focusing on machine and labor efficiencies. Your guidance will be essential for departmental leaders to ensure that scorecard objectives are consistently met. In this position, you will support the site leader in managing capacity and will actively participate in collaboration with other sites to optimize scheduling, ensuring that internal and external customer on-time delivery demands are met. You will also be involved in equipment feasibility studies, making recommendations for investments, and implementing capital expenditure projects while being accountable for meeting payback expectations. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work with cross-functional leaders to set continuous improvement initiatives aimed at driving operational excellence. You will execute the annual financial plan and monitor performance through forecasting and other company reports. Additionally, you will provide guidance on staffing, training, employee relations, and performance management to develop and enhance both salaried and hourly production teams, working closely with your direct reports. Your role will also involve interacting with key stakeholders to provide technical support, explore new business opportunities, and resolve order problems or complaints. To stay ahead in the industry, you will maintain your professional and technical knowledge by networking, attending industry events, and reviewing relevant publications.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant experience required.
  • Knowledge of safety methods, accepted practices, and regulatory requirements associated with worker protection and environmental safety.
  • Understanding of operational requirements and management of a manufacturing facility.
  • Familiarity with managing and maintaining physical facilities and infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of theft prevention techniques and addressing threats to a manufacturing facility.
  • Understanding of electrical, mechanical, and logistics equipment used in manufacturing, including safe usage, maintenance, and storage.
  • Knowledge of technologies and applications used in manufacturing products and optimizing manufacturing processes.
