About the position

The Production Manager role at Toolcraft Machining is a pivotal leadership position located in Germantown, WI, where you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of a single plant with a workforce of 40 employees. This role is classified as exempt and full-time, requiring 100% onsite presence. As a key member of the leadership team, you will utilize your dynamic personality to influence and lead the team towards achieving operational excellence. Your primary focus will be on driving the discipline of SQDC (safety, quality, delivery, continuous improvement) to enhance both top-line revenue growth and bottom-line profitability. In this role, you will develop and implement both long and short-term strategic plans while driving significant improvements in Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the plant. You will work closely with the Executive team to ensure that operational strategies align with the company’s vision. Your responsibilities will include scheduling manufacturing flow to maximize shop floor resources, ensuring accountability, and enabling predictability in plant outcomes. You will also be tasked with quickly determining the root causes of delivery and quality issues and effectively implementing countermeasures. As a leader, you will foster a continuous improvement mindset among your team, enhancing productivity and employee engagement. You will establish strong visual management practices on the plant floor and promote effective problem-solving methodologies. In terms of P&L leadership, you will collaborate with the leadership team to communicate and drive the strategic vision and growth of the business. This includes synthesizing action plans, timelines, and budgets for project and product goals, while adjusting these plans to respond to the changing demands of the business. Additionally, you will be responsible for talent management, developing a high-performance team by engaging, coaching, and driving accountability at all levels. Your overall responsibilities will encompass Production, Quality, Shipping & Receiving, Safety & Maintenance, and Order Processing.

Responsibilities

  • Drive the discipline of SQDC (safety, quality, delivery, continuous improvement) to enhance revenue growth and profitability.

  • Ensure accountability and predictability of plant outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of management or operational leadership experience.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated success within the machining industry.
  • Proficient knowledge of the manufacturing process and ability to read mechanical blueprints.
  • Proven successful applications of software tools including ERP and Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong operational and leadership acumen.
  • Critical thinking skills to identify problem areas and potential solutions.
  • Demonstrates Authenticity, Do the Right Thing, Grit & Humility.
