About the position

The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the production process in a bakery environment. This role requires effective communication with employees, managing schedules, and ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining a clean and safe working environment. The supervisor will also be involved in troubleshooting equipment issues and ensuring proper sanitation practices are followed. A team-oriented attitude is essential, as the supervisor will work closely with staff to foster a collaborative atmosphere.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate effectively with employees and answer phone calls.
  • Stand for 8 to 10-hour shifts.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Utilize computer skills for scheduling and monitoring.
  • Work with and around bakery equipment.
  • Act as a role model for employees.
  • Advise and assist in the weekly creation of employee schedules.
  • Foster a team player attitude with excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Manage employees and develop a team atmosphere.
  • Resolve employee conflicts.
  • Ensure proper sanitation habits are met.
  • Monitor staff for proper cleanup procedures.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and perform repairs if needed.
  • Devise and execute plans for production completion in case of equipment failure.
  • Assist stores with special needs as they arise.
  • Deploy employees to ensure cross-training of jobs.
  • Monitor product counts and make adjustments as needed.
  • Work effectively in a team environment.
  • Follow verbal and written instructions.

Requirements

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours per shift.
  • Availability to work 2nd shift and weekends.
