About the position

The Production Manager at Crown Linen LLC is a pivotal role that operates under the direction of the Plant Manager, overseeing the overall production during shifts. This position is responsible for ensuring that production goals are met while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and customer relations. The Production Manager will manage various aspects of the operation, including fiscal management, cost control, and the development of the workforce. This role requires a strong focus on maintaining a safe work environment and compliance with regulatory standards, as well as effective communication with both staff and customers. In this role, the Production Manager will be tasked with monitoring payroll and labor costs, ensuring the cost-effective operation of the plant, and liaising with the Engineering Manager to maintain production equipment. The position also involves preparing reports on operational performance, managing safety protocols, and providing training for new hires and existing employees. The Production Manager will assist in budget forecasting and handle employee reviews and disciplinary actions, ensuring that all personnel are adequately trained and developed. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing work schedules based on production forecasts and developing action plans for the supervisory team. This role also includes managing utility supplies, inventory issues, and exploring new labor opportunities in the market. The Production Manager will be expected to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the plant operations.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee overall shift production and maintain quality standards.
  • Manage fiscal responsibilities including costs and expenses for the shift.
  • Monitor payroll and labor costs to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Liaise with the Engineering Manager for equipment safety and upkeep.
  • Prepare and report on daily, weekly, and monthly operational performance indicators.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and provide necessary training for employees.
  • Assist customers with any emergencies or issues that arise during operations.
  • Forecast annual budgets and assist in the budget approval process.
  • Prepare employee reviews and manage disciplinary procedures.
  • Develop training and development plans for all assigned personnel.
  • Prepare work schedules based on production volume forecasts.
  • Manage utility supplies, inventory, and line purchases for cost control.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Management or equivalent.
  • Minimum of two years of commercial laundry management experience.
  • Bilingual skills in Spanish/Creole are a plus.
  • Knowledge of production methods and monitoring.
  • Familiarity with laundry equipment and basic washroom chemistry.
  • Effective communication skills in both written and oral formats.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing environments.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
