About the position

The Service Operations Support Manager in Training at CarMax is responsible for managing and leading associates to meet production targets, maintain inventory levels, and ensure exceptional customer service. This role involves conducting observations, providing feedback, participating in hiring processes, and supporting continuous improvement efforts within the operations team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead associates to achieve production targets and maintain inventory levels.
• Provide exceptional customer service and handle customer concerns efficiently.
• Conduct informal and formal observations of associates and communicate expectations.
• Participate in the screening, hiring, and development of associates.
• Maintain key performance measures and assist in the execution of production plans.
• Ensure proper inventory levels of materials and equipment using the supply ordering system.
• Support sales, business office, and purchasing teams as needed.
• Ensure compliance with risk management, loss prevention, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years management experience in a complex, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team to achieve production goals.
• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and transcribing data for accurate record maintenance.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively.
• Strong communication skills for dealing with customers and associates in person and over the phone.
• Above average computer skills with various software.
