About the position

The VASC Supervisor at Hilti Inc. plays a crucial role in directing and overseeing the Value Added Services Center (VASC) personnel. This position is responsible for coordinating a variety of operational activities, including prefabrication processes such as cutting, kitting, painting, and pre-assembly of projects. The supervisor will also manage shipping, receiving, returns, carrier scheduling, and replenishments. A significant part of the role involves supervisory responsibilities, which include performance monitoring, evaluation, coaching, and directing work assignments, as well as cross-training personnel to enhance their skills and efficiency. In addition to these operational duties, the VASC Supervisor will engage in support activities that encompass data analysis, reporting, forecasting, inventory investigation, slotting, and executing data pulls through BI/SAP queries. The position is designed to lead and facilitate efforts aimed at achieving operational excellence, with a strong focus on improving performance in key areas such as safety, efficiency, and quality. The supervisor will also be responsible for maintaining internal controls and service level standards, ensuring that the operations are audited regularly to meet these benchmarks. The role requires the supervisor to develop and maintain a productive work team by creating programs for hiring, training, and professional development, ensuring that the skills and backgrounds of personnel align with the work required. Additionally, the supervisor will drive performance by ensuring that the team executes key initiatives and will be responsible for site warehouse safety and security. The position may also involve additional duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the VASC operations.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee VASC personnel.
  • Coordinate operational activities including prefabrication, shipping, receiving, returns, carrier scheduling, and replenishments.
  • Monitor and evaluate performance, providing coaching and direction for work assignments.
  • Conduct cross-training of personnel to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Engage in data analysis, reporting, forecasting, and inventory investigation.
  • Audit operations to ensure compliance with internal controls and service level standards.
  • Develop and maintain a productive work team through hiring, training, and professional development programs.
  • Drive performance by executing key initiatives and maintaining a performance management process.
  • Develop relationships with internal and external customers for quality feedback.
  • Implement continuous improvement processes through Lean and CIP methodologies.
  • Define and implement operational goals aligned with regional targets.
  • Ensure site warehouse safety and security.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED required; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years of operational experience required; three (3) years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team-oriented workforce.
  • Proven experience managing personnel and expenses to meet operational objectives.
  • Ability to recommend, introduce, and/or implement new technologies to improve efficiencies.
  • Knowledge and ability to use SAP.
  • Excellent computer skills and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
