About the position

The Production Manager at Farmer Group is responsible for overseeing the production of finished goods, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This role involves managing production schedules, tracking inventory, and developing efficient systems and processes to enhance productivity. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, be detail-oriented, and thrive in a dynamic startup environment.

Responsibilities

• Execution of production orders, setting production unit goals and deadlines
• Managing manufacturing calendars and schedules
• Create and maintain accurate production process SOPs and ensure adherence by all staff
• Daily supervision of manufacturing staff including time clock, breaks, attendance, performance coaching, and HR documentation
• Hiring and termination responsibility in accordance with company policies
• Training content development and delivery for all production employees
• Track manufacturing analytics, usage, efficiency, waste, yields, and labor utilization
• Communicate valuable data insights to the management team and provide recommendations for continuous quality improvement

Requirements

• 3+ years experience managing people in a manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to coach and develop talent
• Extremely organized and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working in an ever-evolving startup environment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proficient computer skills

Nice-to-haves

• Cannabis knowledge preferred
• Experience with a 4-day/week, 10-hour/day schedule preferred
• Experience with manufacturing efficiency competencies (e.g., LEAN SixSigma) preferred
• Cultural competence
• Comfortable in a bilingual environment; Spanish-speaking skills strongly preferred
