About the position

The Production Manager at Bekaert is responsible for overseeing all manufacturing operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and quality in production processes. This role involves planning, directing, and coordinating production activities while fostering a safe work environment and promoting continuous improvement. The manager will lead a team of supervisors, manage production schedules, and implement strategies to meet production goals and customer demands.

Responsibilities

• Plan, direct, and coordinate all manufacturing operations of production, machinery, processing, and packaging.
• Develop priorities based on production introduction, equipment efficiency, and materials.
• Create schedules and staffing requirements in collaboration with area supervisors.
• Establish manufacturing and quality control standards and develop budget controls and plans.
• Ensure a safe work environment for team members and promote safe working behaviors.
• Engage with SHE Manager/Coordinator/team to promote safety.
• Identify areas for improvement and promote acceptable behaviors through coaching.
• Ensure production meets sales expectations and review production schedules.
• Support necessary trials for new products and materials.
• Implement continuous improvement methods and 5S standards to achieve productivity and quality gains.
• Manage a team of supervisors and their production teams to foster positive work relationships.
• Conduct weekly team meetings and senior managerial meetings to create and implement department policies.
• Hold team members accountable for meeting expectations and coach them towards improvement.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Bachelor's degree related to job function
• 4 years of job-related experience
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SAP, Business Warehouse, and Power BI
• Excellent communication skills
