About the position

We are hiring a Production Manager for our client in Winnsboro, SC. As a Production Manager, you will be responsible for training and developing staff members while supervising day-to-day operations within the plant. This position is a direct-hire opportunity, and the working hours are from 5:30 AM to 3:30 PM. In this role, you will oversee, administer, support, and track all Quality Control efforts, ensuring that the plant production goals are met and that continuous improvements are implemented, particularly through the use of lean principles. You will be tasked with reporting any items or circumstances that may negatively impact quality and will help to develop solutions to address such issues. Additionally, you will control MRO spending and manage the layout for the efficient use of machinery and equipment. Your responsibilities will also include studying, processing, analyzing, and improving the cost of production, effectively communicating with employees and peers, and performing basic mathematical calculations to report data accurately. You will need to maintain a clean and safe plant environment while upholding the highest levels of professional and personal integrity and ethics. Other tasks may be assigned as needed. As a supervisor, you will oversee the daily workflow of the plant, schedule and organize staff to ensure proper staffing, hire and train new management/supervisory employees, and handle discipline and termination of employees as necessary, following company policy.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 3 - 5+ years of experience in the marine industry
  • 8+ years of progressive leadership in a manufacturing environment
  • Thrive on building manufacturing operations in high-growth environments

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, able to motivate diverse teams
  • Effective with various personnel and communication styles across operations

  • Strong organizational skills in record-keeping, scheduling, and document preparation

  • Strong training in Lean Manufacturing practices
  • Ability to establish, manage, and maintain key financial reports
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, electronic mail, procedures, and performance documents
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to effectively conduct meetings in person and with technology assistance

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Management, Math, Engineering, or equivalent
  • 3 - 5+ years of experience as a finishing supervisor or production manager
  • 5+ years of plant management level experience
  • 5+ years of marine/boat management experience
  • In-depth knowledge of mold maintenance, gel coat, lamination, and assembly processes
