About the position

The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production and output of PolyIso at the manufacturing facility. This role involves managing a team of direct reports who guide 70-90 production employees, ensuring efficient operations, compliance with safety standards, and effective communication between various departments. The Production Manager plays a crucial role in planning, scheduling, and improving production processes while maintaining quality assurance and employee relations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, direct, and monitor daily production activities, delegating responsibilities as necessary.
  • Ensure personnel are trained to perform standard work.
  • Schedule production based on customer requirements and determine manpower and material needs.
  • Perform administrative tasks including payroll, performance reviews, and maintaining performance measurement reports.
  • Ensure compliance with safety programs and conduct audits and training.
  • Direct and train others in the implementation of the Carlisle Operating System using lean methodologies.
  • Provide employee coaching and development to ensure effective employee relations.
  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager and HR for employment decisions and resolving employee concerns.
  • Interview and select employees for production roles.
  • Work with management to improve processes related to production flow, safety, and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering (IE), or Mechanical Engineering (ME) preferred.
  • 3-5 years of supervisory/management experience, with at least 3 years in manufacturing.
  • Prior experience in operations research/process flow and scheduling.
  • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Experience using SAP and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to lead teams.
  • Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 5S methodologies.
  • Understanding of coaching, counseling, and feedback fundamentals.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in quality assurance and documentation management.
  • Familiarity with chemical mixing/metering equipment and robotic stacking equipment.
