About the position

The Production Manager at Daifuku is responsible for overseeing the activities and performance of Supervisors to ensure the timely and safe production of quality products within budget. This role involves managing departmental operations, staffing, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards while driving continuous improvement in processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage the activities and performance of Supervisors to ensure quality products are manufactured on time and within budget.
• Ensure efficient and timely production and proper staffing for all department-related requirements.
• Support recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
• Communicate job expectations and review job contributions of team members.
• Provide technical guidance to team members and consult with other resources as needed.
• Communicate with the Director of Manufacturing regarding schedules and backlogs.
• Work with Project Managers and Engineering as appropriate to maintain project schedules.
• Review labor charges, purchase requisitions, and department schedules.
• Conduct department and CIT meetings.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the material handling industry.
• Excellent management skills for directing, coaching, scheduling, and assisting team members.
• Technical orientation with the ability to learn new technologies.
• Computer skills including MS Office.
• Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Ability to multi-task while maintaining attention to detail and deadlines.
• Team-oriented and collaborative.
