About the position

The Production Manager is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the technical and logistical aspects of concerts and events at Live Nation-operated venues as well as third-party venues, which include theatres, clubs, stadiums, and arenas in the local market and surrounding areas. This position requires a comprehensive understanding of both on-stage and backstage operations, ensuring that all technical details are meticulously managed to deliver a seamless experience for artists and clients alike. In this role, the Production Manager will coordinate between touring productions and venues, advancing and obtaining presale technical information, which includes production needs, rider requirements, staging, and capacity changes. The individual will interface with local contractors and vendors, as well as clients renting Live Nation venues, to ensure that all show requirements are met. This includes managing stagehands, runners, security, casual labor, and rental equipment, with a strong emphasis on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. On the day of the show, the Production Manager will be responsible for the management of concert and private events from load-in to load-out. This includes a focus on customer service, adherence to time schedules, sound restrictions, and cost containment. The role also involves show settlement, which includes artist and vendor payments for events. As a representative of Live Nation at scheduled shows, the Production Manager will handle production and show settlement responsibilities for non-Amphitheater shows in the market, as directed. Additionally, the individual will coordinate and manage approved subcontractors and third-party vendors to ensure that events are executed safely, efficiently, and successfully.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate between tour/private production and venues.
  • Advance and obtain presale technical information, including production needs, rider requirements, staging, and capacity changes.
  • Interface with local contractors and tours, clients renting Live Nation venues, and venue production teams for all show requirements.
  • Manage day of show operations from load in to load out, focusing on customer service and adherence to schedules.
  • Handle show settlement and artist/vendor payments for events.
  • Act as Live Nation representative at scheduled shows for production and show settlement responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and manage approved subcontractors and third-party vendors for successful events.

Requirements

  • 4+ years' experience as a Production Manager, promoter representative, or event coordinator.
  • General knowledge of venue operations preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with a hands-on style and ability to thrive in a results-oriented environment.
  • Ability to travel within the Northern California market as schedule dictates.
  • Flexible schedule including days/nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and make clear decisions with limited information.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent references.
