The Group Performance Leader (GPL) at SEE is a pivotal role responsible for ensuring the on-time execution of the production schedule on the shop floor. This position requires a proactive approach to managing daily operations, including the oversight of performance metrics and addressing any issues that arise during production. The GPL will conduct a thorough review of the previous 24 hours at the start of each day, which is essential for maintaining operational efficiency and effectiveness. In addition to daily reviews, the GPL will manage the Department War Room, where key performance indicators (KPIs) are updated and discussed. This War Room serves as a critical hub for reporting the shift's performance and facilitating communication among various departments, including Safety, Quality, Engineering, and Maintenance. The GPL will partner closely with the maintenance department to coordinate planned maintenance activities, ensuring that equipment is prepared for maintenance interventions as outlined in the daily War Room discussions. The GPL is also responsible for creating the daily production plan based on insights gathered from daily reviews and integration meetings. This planning is crucial for managing key daily activities and ensuring that production goals are met. The role involves supporting problem-solving initiatives related to safety, quality, and performance on the shop floor, and escalating issues to the Value Stream Leader (VSL) when necessary. Additionally, the GPL will coach Team Performance Leaders (TPLs) in their area, ensuring that teams conduct routine assessments on their effectiveness. With a significant responsibility of managing a budget of $50 million, the GPL is accountable for safety, quality, and productivity KPIs in their area. This includes administering disciplinary actions when required and collaborating with maintenance leadership to enhance autonomous and preventative maintenance practices among operators. The GPL will also play a key role in supporting continuous improvement efforts, which involve the implementation of new standards, procedures, and enhancements to existing processes.
