About the position

Derya is establishing a new manufacturing facility in the USA, focusing on the production of firearms, including pistols, rifles, and shotguns. This position of Production Manager is critical as it will be one of the first hires in the USA, and the selected candidate will play a pivotal role in setting up and managing the production processes from the ground up. The company is looking for a hands-on manager who is willing to grow with the organization as it expands its operations in the United States. The Production Manager will report directly to the President and will be responsible for overseeing the production schedule to ensure timely completion of manufacturing tasks. The role involves active participation in factory production planning, where the manager will need to identify and address any key concerns that may impact the production schedule. Additionally, the Production Manager will manage the shipping schedule to ensure on-time delivery of products. This position requires a proactive approach to managing workflows and collaborating with various teams to ensure that production goals are met efficiently. As the company begins its operations in the USA, the Production Manager will also be responsible for creating and managing work-in-progress (WIP) reports to track development and provide status updates to the direct manager. Frequent communication with global vendors will be essential throughout the product lifecycle, and the manager will partner with the design team for product development approvals, ensuring that all engineering efforts align with cost parameters and deadlines.

Requirements

  • Six or more years of experience in a production or product-management role
  • Experience in global sourcing and managing product lifecycles
  • Knack for building strong relationships with vendors
  • Experience in negotiating with multiple vendors to meet specified budget
  • Ability to manage a team efficiently and effectively

Nice-to-haves

  • High school minimum with experience
  • Proficiency with PC applications, especially Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
