The Production Manager (PM) at East Coast Facilities, Inc. plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the Service Center, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. This position is responsible for managing a team of Crew Leaders and their respective crew members, with the potential for additional responsibilities if assigned as a Senior PM. The PM is tasked with ensuring that all production activities are executed efficiently and effectively, which includes managing field workers, fleet resources, and specific work production that may be recurring or project-based. The PM is expected to engage in planning, scheduling, dispatching, in-field training, supervision, quality control, productivity management, and direct cost management, all of which are core components of the role. In the realm of planning and scheduling, the PM collaborates closely with the Operations Manager to organize production on the team calendar, source materials, and ensure timely delivery to job sites. The PM is also responsible for purchasing supplies according to company guidelines and managing work tickets through the Omnia-SDS system. In terms of production responsibilities, the PM is present for Egress and assists in executing the ECF Egress Standard, dispatching crews, supervising field operations, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The PM must ensure that the fleet is well-maintained and that all personnel adhere to corporate standards regarding uniforms and job site cleanliness. Additionally, the PM engages in sales support by conducting quality control audits, assisting with estimating and proposal preparation, and attending client meetings as necessary. The role also encompasses recruiting, training, and developing field workers, which includes conducting interviews, facilitating employee orientation, and providing ongoing training in technical and soft skills. The PM is expected to follow disciplinary protocols and support specialized training initiatives for field personnel. The position requires strong communication skills, as the PM must regularly interact with clients and provide updates on production efforts. Proficiency in English is essential, and the PM must be able to read and interpret data and documents, work under deadlines, and respond to various situations encountered in the course of work. The role also demands physical stamina, as the PM may need to lift up to 60 pounds and work long hours during emergencies or adverse weather conditions. The work environment can be challenging, with exposure to various weather conditions and mechanical parts, necessitating a focus on safety and adherence to company policies.
