About the position

The Production Manager (PM) at East Coast Facilities, Inc. plays a crucial role in overseeing the operations of the Service Center, reporting directly to the Director of Operations. This position is responsible for managing a team of Crew Leaders and their respective crew members, with the potential for additional responsibilities if assigned as a Senior PM. The PM is tasked with ensuring that all production activities are executed efficiently and effectively, which includes managing field workers, fleet resources, and specific work production that may be recurring or project-based. The PM is expected to engage in planning, scheduling, dispatching, in-field training, supervision, quality control, productivity management, and direct cost management, all of which are core components of the role. In the realm of planning and scheduling, the PM collaborates closely with the Operations Manager to organize production on the team calendar, source materials, and ensure timely delivery to job sites. The PM is also responsible for purchasing supplies according to company guidelines and managing work tickets through the Omnia-SDS system. In terms of production responsibilities, the PM is present for Egress and assists in executing the ECF Egress Standard, dispatching crews, supervising field operations, and maintaining safety and quality standards. The PM must ensure that the fleet is well-maintained and that all personnel adhere to corporate standards regarding uniforms and job site cleanliness. Additionally, the PM engages in sales support by conducting quality control audits, assisting with estimating and proposal preparation, and attending client meetings as necessary. The role also encompasses recruiting, training, and developing field workers, which includes conducting interviews, facilitating employee orientation, and providing ongoing training in technical and soft skills. The PM is expected to follow disciplinary protocols and support specialized training initiatives for field personnel. The position requires strong communication skills, as the PM must regularly interact with clients and provide updates on production efforts. Proficiency in English is essential, and the PM must be able to read and interpret data and documents, work under deadlines, and respond to various situations encountered in the course of work. The role also demands physical stamina, as the PM may need to lift up to 60 pounds and work long hours during emergencies or adverse weather conditions. The work environment can be challenging, with exposure to various weather conditions and mechanical parts, necessitating a focus on safety and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage 3-5 Crew Leaders and their crew members.
  • Plan and schedule production activities in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
  • Source, pick up, and deliver materials to job sites or the Service Center.
  • Purchase supplies and materials according to company purchasing guidelines.
  • Print and deliver work tickets to assigned Crew Leaders.
  • Close production tickets in Omnia-SDS and review job costing reports.
  • Assist with the execution of The ECF Egress Standard during Egress.
  • Dispatch assigned crews and coordinate with other PMs or the Operations Manager for resource needs.
  • Supervise crews in the field, ensuring adherence to production and budget guidelines.
  • Maintain safety, production, and quality standards in the field.
  • Ensure fleet maintenance and safe operation, reporting essential repairs timely.
  • Complete essential paperwork and reports for management.
  • Communicate with clients, providing updates and addressing requests.
  • Perform quality control audits and identify project opportunities for customers.
  • Assist with estimating and preparing proposals as requested by leadership.
  • Present proposals to customers and attend client meetings as required.
  • Conduct interviews and assist in hiring field workers as directed.
  • Train Crew Leaders and Crew Members in technical and safety training.
  • Administer disciplinary protocols for subordinates.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in English, both written and oral communication skills.
  • Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets underwriting standards.
  • Experience in managing field operations and supervising teams.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills for scheduling production activities.
  • Ability to perform quality control audits and prepare estimates and proposals.
  • Experience in recruiting, training, and developing employees.
