About the position

TekniPlex is seeking a Production Manager for its Ridgefield facility, a pivotal role responsible for directing and coordinating production operations. The Production Manager will oversee the manufacturing processes, ensuring adherence to schedules, performance standards, and quality control. This position requires collaboration with various departments to support company objectives and ensure that the facility meets its commitments. The Production Manager will also be responsible for developing and enforcing safety practices, monitoring performance against planned metrics, and implementing solutions to any operational issues that arise. In this role, the Production Manager will take charge of the quality of both the product and the workplace environment. This includes planning and coordinating work, training and motivating subordinate supervisors, and evaluating their performance. The Production Manager will support production budgets and schedules while establishing departmental goals and objectives. Collaboration with senior management and supervisors on critical tasks is essential, as is the development of efficient plans for the use of materials, machines, and personnel. The Production Manager will also review production costs and quality, modifying control programs as necessary to maintain profitability. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) will be supported and managed to align with cost control, quality, and safety objectives. The role requires accurate and timely collection of daily production data, demonstrating leadership consistent with the company's philosophy and goals. The Production Manager will interpret and apply company policies, ensuring compliance with established regulations and procedures, and will manage additional tasks as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate production operations at the Ridgefield manufacturing facility.
  • Ensure adherence to safety practices and environmental regulations.
  • Monitor actual versus planned performance of manufacturing departments and implement remedies to issues.
  • Assume responsibility for product quality and workplace quality.
  • Plan and coordinate work, train and motivate subordinate supervisors, and evaluate their performance.
  • Support production budgets and schedules, establishing departmental goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with senior management and supervisors on critical tasks.
  • Develop plans for efficient use of materials, machines, and employees.
  • Review production costs and quality, modifying control programs to enhance profitability.
  • Support and manage Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to cost control, quality, and safety.
  • Manage daily production data collection accurately and timely.
  • Demonstrate leadership consistent with company philosophy and goals.
  • Interpret and apply company policies and ensure compliance with regulations.
  • Work with contractors related to production and order production supplies as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering preferred.
  • 10 years of industry experience with at least 5 years in a management role.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, select, train, and instruct personnel.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of production processes and manufacturing capabilities.
  • Demonstrated strong decision-making skills and sound judgment.
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in the Healthcare or Consumer Product markets.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations and safety practices in manufacturing.
