About the position

The Production Manager at Roskam Foods is responsible for leading the Operations team to achieve key operational performance indicators while ensuring employee safety, food safety, food quality, service, and cost efficiency. This role involves overseeing the launch of new products and production lines, promoting a culture of continuous improvement, and engaging with various internal and external stakeholders to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead efforts to refine employee safety and food safety programs, as well as food quality and line sanitation programs.
• Participate in the design of new production lines to incorporate operational considerations.
• Lead the launch of new items into the business unit, ensuring safety and profitability expectations are met.
• Conduct post-project reviews to ensure goals are met and learnings are shared.
• Set clear goals and develop plans to improve key performance indicators for operational productivity.
• Oversee production managers and supervisors to ensure work is prioritized and executed thoroughly.
• Develop a culture that engages employees to improve operational performance and stability.
• Manage the P&L of the business unit and address budget shortfalls effectively.
• Ensure accurate production performance reporting and identify skills gaps for training.
• Oversee plans to reduce downtime and increase line availability through preventive maintenance planning.
• Identify and develop capital projects with corporate engineering and plant operations teams.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment for audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in food/manufacturing related field, engineering, business administration, or management, or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of industry experience in progressive leadership roles.
• Experience with continuous improvement methodologies.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and develop employees.
