About the position

The Production Manager at Cryopak is responsible for overseeing plant operations and ensuring profitability at the gross margin level. This role requires active participation on the production floor, focusing on hands-on engagement with operations to implement innovative changes that enhance efficiency and quality. The ideal candidate will lead the manufacturing production team, manage production goals, and foster a culture of continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage production operations according to the yearly operation plan to achieve business objectives.
  • Coordinate the establishment of production goals and pursue efficiency improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Oversee and manage plant employees, ensuring a safe and clean environment.
  • Direct manufacturing and maintenance operations for effective asset return.
  • Manage department heads to coordinate purchasing, production, and shipping processes.
  • Identify plans to minimize manufacturing costs through effective resource utilization.
  • Ensure attainment of business objectives and production schedules while maintaining product quality standards.
  • Collaborate with employees to revamp existing processes and promote continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and maintain production reports and personnel records.
  • Coordinate procedures for facility and equipment maintenance or modification.
  • Manage spending against budget in relation to production volume changes.
  • Improve manpower and resource utilization within departments and processes.
  • Hire, train, evaluate, and discharge staff, resolving personnel grievances.
  • Establish plant policies and procedures and maintain a clean manufacturing environment.

Requirements

  • B.S. Mechanical Engineering Degree or related field.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and change management.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in a warehouse or production environment.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety regulations.
  • Background in manufacturing methods and process improvement programs.
  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, and cost management.
  • Familiarity with machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
  • Understanding of business and management principles related to strategic planning and resource allocation.
  • Ability to work effectively and courteously with coworkers and other personnel.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with manufacturing methods and process improvement programs.
  • Knowledge of design techniques and principles involved in production.
