About the position

Prysmian Group is seeking a Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing process within a specific unit of our facility in Lincoln, RI. As the Value Stream Manager, you will report directly to the Manufacturing Manager and be responsible for managing the production operations to ensure effective utilization of materials, labor, and equipment. Your role will encompass total production management, including meeting production requirements, maintaining defect levels, minimizing waste, and achieving work order targets. You will ensure that all necessary resources are available for the unit's operations, including direct labor, technical support, and maintenance resources. In this position, you will coordinate with Production Control and cell associates to manage scheduling, sequencing, and load leveling within the manufacturing cells. Collaboration with Engineering and Quality teams will be essential to eliminate waste and enhance process capabilities. You will champion health and safety initiatives, environmental standards, and the 6S program, while utilizing Lean Sigma tools to troubleshoot recurring issues and address root-cause process failures. This role requires a results-driven individual with a strong ability to work in a high-performance manufacturing environment, manage multiple complex tasks, and lead continuous improvement efforts. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical skills, solid planning and organizational abilities, and a proven track record of motivating and communicating effectively with teams. A background in engineering, along with Greenbelt certification and 3-5 years of manufacturing management experience, preferably in a unionized plant environment, is desired. Project management experience will also be beneficial in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the manufacturing process to effectively use materials, labor, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Engineering Degree or equivalent desired.
  • Greenbelt certification is desired.
  • 3-5 years of manufacturing management experience, preferably in a team-based environment.
  • Project management experience.
  • Union plant experience preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Six Sigma and lean manufacturing.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex tasks.
