About the position

The Production Manager at Taylor Corporation is responsible for overseeing production, quality, and safety at the Arden Hills facility. This role involves leading a team of hourly employees, ensuring adherence to production schedules, and maintaining high standards of quality and safety. The position emphasizes leadership, communication, and continuous improvement to achieve operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational direction to a team of hourly lettershop employees.
• Oversee insertion of projects according to established production schedule.
• Ensure that all lettershop activities conform to job ticket and machine specifications.
• Adjust staffing at inserting equipment to accommodate different projects and ensure proper product production.
• Monitor processes to ensure quality and throughput standards are met.
• Verify labor hours and payroll report accuracy.
• Oversee training and cross-training of assigned staff, appraise performance, and initiate discipline processes.
• Balance quality, productivity, safety, and morale to achieve positive results.
• Work towards continuous improvement in all areas.
• Ensure effective employee relations and provide coaching and development.
• Enforce health and safety policies and regulations, reporting infractions to HR and/or Safety Manager.
• Conduct preliminary accident investigations and inspections, monitoring work areas for cleanliness.

Requirements

• 3 to 5 years' prior supervisory experience.
• Experience working with a diverse group of people.
• Bilingual in Hmong and English is a plus.
• Ability to maintain high expectations for self and others, demonstrating dedication to achieving results.
• Demonstrated ability to function successfully in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
• Solid problem-solving, project management, multi-tasking, and prioritization skills.
• Detail-oriented, organized, reliable, and resourceful.
• Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information and ideas.

Nice-to-haves

• 1+ years experience in the Printing Industry.
• Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing experience.
• Experience with environmental and safety regulations including OSHA, EPA, and HAZMAT.
