About the position

The Production Manager at Safe Fleet is responsible for overseeing the production staff, managing workflow, and ensuring efficient operations within the manufacturing department. This role emphasizes leadership, team performance, and adherence to safety and company policies while driving continuous improvement in production processes.

Responsibilities

• Manage and train the production staff.
• Review work orders and schedule workflow to maximize machine utilization.
• Monitor the performance of production staff and provide necessary training.
• Ensure compliance with safety, security, and company policies.
• Communicate production goals and expectations effectively to operators.
• Maintain equipment and ensure regular maintenance is performed.
• Oversee inventory of shop supplies and tools, ensuring accuracy in outbound shipments.
• Lead Lean Manufacturing implementation and process improvement activities.
• Participate in new product development meetings and support production requirements.
• Directly manage Supervisors and Team Leaders, addressing performance and HR issues.

Requirements

• High School Graduation or equivalent; secondary trade school or college degree preferred.
• Ability to understand manufacturing organization needs and business processes.
• Above average verbal, mathematical, and written skills.
• Competent computer data entry skills and experience with MS Office and ERP software.
• Ability to read blueprints and perform basic factory tasks.
