About the position

As a Production Manager at Dart Container, you will lead production operations across multiple shifts, ensuring adherence to key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, efficiency, and service. This role is pivotal in shaping the future of manufacturing innovation and quality within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Direct production activities, collaborating closely with supervisors to optimize schedules and resources.
  • Champion safety and quality practices to meet regulatory standards and exceed customer expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and achieve strategic goals.
  • Lead by example, inspiring a culture of commitment to safety, quality, and employee development.
  • Monitor KPIs closely, proactively identifying trends and taking corrective actions as needed.
  • Facilitate strategic planning sessions to seize opportunities for operational excellence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with five (5) years previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated strong leadership and management skills, or;
  • High school diploma or equivalent with eight (8) years previous supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated strong leadership and management skills.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in planning, resource allocation, cost analysis and budgeting, people management, and leadership guidance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and is accessible and approachable.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills necessary to persuade and influence decision making of individuals, groups, or work teams.
  • Ability to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience managing multi-shift or continuous operations.
  • Paper converting, chemical/plastics processing, and packaging industrial experience.
  • Lean manufacturing experience.
