About the position

The Production Manager at Epiroc Drilling Tools LLC is tasked with the overall responsibility of planning, directing, controlling, and coordinating the manufacturing operations at the Kronenwetter, WI plant. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement in various aspects of production, including product cost, quality, delivery, workplace safety, employee training, engagement, recognition, production capacity, staffing, and operational efficiency. The Production Manager will develop and maintain a manufacturing organization that aligns with the strategic direction of the company, ensuring that the production activities meet the division's targets and objectives for quality, delivery, and cost. In this position, the Production Manager will focus on creating a highly efficient and structured production operation. This includes a commitment to reducing working capital while maintaining customer satisfaction regarding delivery and quality. The role emphasizes operational excellence and the ability to adjust capacity to meet customer demand, whether internal or external. The Production Manager will ensure that milling and lathe capacities are consistently maintained through investments in machinery and personnel. Additionally, the role involves creating flow lines for relevant product categories to identify bottlenecks clearly and implementing Andon/Production flow visualization as part of a Manufacturing Execution System (MES). Profitability is a key focus, with the Production Manager responsible for effective price management, functional cost efficiencies, and operational excellence. This includes achieving annual PK improvements across all revenue streams through vendor management and throughput gains in manufacturing. The role also requires consistent improvement in labor utilization throughout the workshops and developing adjustable capacity through workforce planning to accommodate fluctuations in customer demand. Fostering a high-performing organization is essential, with the Production Manager acting as a role model and visible ambassador for the company's values and business code of conduct. The position involves implementing clear missions, strategies, and action plans with measurable results, along with structured follow-up on progress. The Production Manager will ensure that the organization is lean and agile, fully aligned with strategic priorities, and committed to continuous improvement. Maintaining relevant ISO certifications and adhering to the Epiroc Code of Conduct are also critical responsibilities. The Production Manager will lead initiatives to promote safety, health, environment, and quality (SHEQ), aiming for significant reductions in incident rates and driving sustainability improvements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's Degree (four-year college or university) is a plus.
  • Technical School in the machinist or related trade is a plus.
  • 3 to 7 years' experience in a related field.
  • Previous supervisory experience is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills and high-level planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication, time management, and organization skills.
  • Effective presentation delivery and well-developed training and documentation skills.
  • Ability to learn and absorb knowledge quickly.
  • Computer skills with experience in manufacturing systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on operational excellence.
