About the position

Sealed Air (SEE) is seeking a Production Manager to oversee the manufacturing processes in the Press and Extrusion departments. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement initiatives to ensure profitable growth. The Production Manager will work closely under the direction of the Plant Manager, assisting in the operation of the department while developing strategies and providing functional direction to supervisors. The position requires collaboration with various functional area managers to determine the necessary materials, space, equipment, and personnel needs. Additionally, the Production Manager will be responsible for the development and implementation of processes and procedures, as well as the assignment and execution of functional responsibilities while adhering to budget and cost constraints. The Production Manager will communicate the company's strategic goals and vision for the site, evaluating performance against production goals and adjusting resource allocations as needed. This includes optimizing the quality and quantity of equipment, machinery, and components produced, enhancing market share, and ensuring cost-efficiency in operations. The role also involves reviewing and analyzing key business performance data, collaborating with the management team on operations, and maintaining knowledge of current market trends and best practices within the industry. In addition to these responsibilities, the Production Manager will initiate engineering projects and new product launches, developing and leading the implementation of operational initiatives that support Lean Six-Sigma manufacturing principles and 6S methodologies. This position is essential for fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Plant Manager to set short- and long-term production goals for the site.
  • Work with functional area managers to determine materials, space, equipment, and personnel needs.
  • Develop and implement processes, procedures, and functional responsibilities while adhering to budget constraints.
  • Communicate the company's strategic goals and vision for the site.
  • Evaluate performance against production goals and adjust resource allocations as needed.
  • Review and analyze reports of key business performance data and collaborate with the management team on operations.
  • Initiate engineering projects and new product launches.
  • Develop and lead the implementation of operational initiatives in support of Lean Six-Sigma manufacturing and 6S.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Engineering or any technical discipline strongly preferred.
  • 5-10 years of manufacturing experience required.
  • Green Belt Certification preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team with minimal guidance from management.
  • Strong presentation, business acumen, and facilitation skills.
  • Good understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with high volume operations.
  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Change Agent experience required.
  • Experience with Flexographic Press and Blown Extrusion.
