About the position

The Production Manager at Arizona State University plays a crucial role in ensuring the efficient delivery of projects and initiatives for Sun Devil Athletics and ASU Thrive Magazine. This position involves managing project expectations, coordinating creative teams, and ensuring deadlines are met through effective communication and project management. The Production Manager will work closely with senior leadership to align campaign strategies with business objectives, while also maintaining strong relationships across various departments to enhance visibility and efficiency in project execution.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary production manager for Sun Devil Athletics and ASU Thrive magazine.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to define and execute high-level campaign strategies.
  • Build relationships across the university by being responsive to stakeholder needs.
  • Coordinate complex processes, timelines, and workflows with team members and vendors.
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in workflow and processes.
  • Manage incoming project requests and build project schedules in the project management system.
  • Provide administrative support, including keeping meeting notes and following up on action items.
  • Report on projects and deadlines regularly to ensure transparency and accountability.
  • Monitor the project management system for accurate updates and deadlines.
  • Effectively communicate with all levels of staff and partners, seeking clarification when needed.
  • Coordinate production timelines with the Director of ASU Thrive magazine.
  • Contribute to presentations and reports using design and writing skills.
  • May provide on-site coordination during special events related to Athletics and magazine activities.
  • May manage and mentor student workers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Five years of related administrative experience, including three years of supervisory experience, or nine years of related experience with three years of supervisory experience.
  • Experience organizing and scheduling project workflow in a project management system.
  • Experience in a brand, university setting, hospitality, or event-driven environment.
  • Ability to make and communicate decisions in a complex environment.
  • Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills with a focus on process efficiency.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment and coordinating multiple projects.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience writing advertising and marketing strategy for complex projects.
  • Experience using MS Office, Google Docs, and Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Strong service orientation and disciplined work ethic.
