About the position

We are seeking an experienced Denim Production Manager to oversee and manage the end-to-end production process for our imported denim. This role requires a deep understanding of denim production, sourcing, quality control, and logistics. The ideal candidate will ensure that all our vendors meet Oliver Logan's standards for quality, sustainability, and ethical practices and can keep up with our rapid growth. In addition, the Denim Production Manager will work closely with our design team on sample development and collaborate with customers and factories to manage private label projects.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with overseas vendors, ensuring they adhere to Oliver Logan's sustainability and ethical standards.
  • Negotiate contracts, prices, lead times, and delivery terms to optimize costs and production efficiency.
  • Conduct regular vendor audits and inspections to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and certification requirements.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with Oliver Logan's contracting and subcontracting guidelines.
  • Implement and enforce rigorous quality control procedures.
  • Manage the entire production lifecycle, from tech pack handover to final shipment, ensuring timelines are met.
  • Coordinate between customers and factories for private label projects, managing specifications, timelines, and communication to ensure seamless execution.
  • Approve pre-production samples and bulk production based on Oliver Logan's quality standards.
  • Work closely with the design team on sample development, managing fit samples, prototypes, and ensuring timely approval for production.
  • Coordinate shipping schedules, documentation, and customs clearance to ensure smooth import processes.
  • Track production schedules to avoid delays.
  • Optimize freight and shipping methods to reduce costs while maintaining timely delivery.
  • Provide regular reports on production status, vendor performance, and cost analysis to the CEO.
  • Analyze production metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost savings.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Apparel Production, Fashion Merchandising, or a related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 5-7 years experience in denim production, with a focus on importing and managing overseas vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of denim fabrics, garment construction, and finishing techniques.
  • Proven experience in private label production management and sample development.
  • Experience with sustainability and ethical production practices.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and project management tools.
  • Ability to travel overseas for vendor visits and production inspections.
