About the position

The position involves leading a team of supervisors and workers in a food manufacturing environment, ensuring that they have the necessary resources to perform their roles safely and efficiently. The individual will oversee all production and packaging operations within the manufacturing site, generating and reviewing reports related to production, safety, and quality. This role requires assisting supervisors in identifying areas for improvement and assigning tasks or training to facilitate their development. The successful candidate will ensure that the produced goods meet the required specifications and comply with the quality systems, processes, and procedures in place. In addition to overseeing production, the role involves identifying and implementing strategies for cost reduction, quality assurance, and production enhancement. The individual will collaborate with Planning and Operations team members to discuss production schedules and necessary modifications. A key aspect of the position is to ensure that employees utilize problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions to production issues. The candidate will work closely with the Scheduling department to optimize the company's overall performance, including customer service. The position also requires tracking, measuring, and reporting on performance related to production, conducting meetings with employees as needed, and undertaking additional responsibilities as required. This role is critical in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of the manufacturing operations, ensuring that all processes align with industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Leads supervisors and workers, ensuring they have the necessary resources to perform their roles safely and efficiently.

  • Works in close coordination with the Scheduling department to optimize the company's overall performance, including customer service.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
  • Excellent time management and multitasking capabilities.
  • Experience with Lean, TPM, Six Sigma is preferred.
  • Prior experience in a world-class manufacturing environment is required, with a proven track record.
  • Comprehensive understanding of FDA, USDA, GMP, and HACCP Regulations and Principles.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with line employees at the plant floor level.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including occasional weekend hours, to support plant operations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is a plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field (Electrical/Mechanical/Chemical Engineering).

  • Salary Range: $100,000- $120,000
