About the position

The Production Manager at MSA Safety Inc. is responsible for leading the Assembly Factory organization at the Murrysville manufacturing plant. This role requires a high level of visibility and energy, focusing on driving operational excellence, ensuring safety compliance, maintaining product quality, and achieving financial performance. The manager will collaborate with various teams to introduce new products and implement continuous improvement initiatives, all while fostering a positive work environment and developing staff capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Assembly Factory organization, improving core competencies and developing programs to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Collaboratively set objectives for supervisors and group leaders, monitor progress, and provide coaching and support.
  • Partner with factory associates to define and implement safe practices and encourage safe behaviors.
  • Ensure products are produced in accordance with design requirements and resolve customer issues in a timely manner.
  • Establish production processes that exceed market expectations.
  • Drive continuous improvement activities to reduce product costs and eliminate waste.
  • Collaborate with NPD teams to introduce new products into serial production on schedule and within budget.
  • Develop and drive performance to the annual budget, managing Assembly Factory performance metrics.
  • Identify short and long-term needs for capital equipment for the Assembly Factory.
  • Develop strong working relationships with other key company functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related technical field required.
  • Three or more years of production supervision or project management experience required for Level I.
  • Four or more years of production supervision or project management experience required for Level II.
  • Five or more years of production supervision or project management experience required for Level III.
  • Strong business and financial acumen to drive organizational results.
  • Excellent team-building skills and ability to motivate a cohesive team.
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Proven ability to organize and prioritize diverse tasks.
  • Demonstrated success in developing individuals' skills and abilities.
  • Familiarity with Lean / Six Sigma principles.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree preferred.
