The Production Manager is a pivotal role within the organization, responsible for overseeing the production process and ensuring that all equipment and personnel resources are effectively utilized to meet the company's production plan. This position requires a strategic mindset to assemble and prioritize production and customer requirements while defining the manufacturing vision and supportive strategies. The Production Manager will work closely with various departments, including engineering, materials, sales, marketing, and support, to ensure that revenue and customer satisfaction goals are consistently met. Additionally, the Production Manager must ensure that the production team aligns with the company's overall strategy and objectives, fostering a collaborative environment that promotes efficiency and quality in production operations. In this role, the Production Manager will lead a team of line supervisors to organize the daily workload for all production personnel. This includes supervising and assisting in the selection and training of new personnel, developing process documentation that adheres to company policies, and determining workstation allocation and usage. The Production Manager will also support new workstation implementations, manage overtime or extra shifts as necessary, and determine the sequence of production work to optimize workflow. Monitoring production processes is a critical aspect of this role, as the Production Manager will coordinate with the Master Scheduler to adjust schedules as needed. They will also aid in the monitoring and scheduling of maintenance for equipment, implement Lean Six-Sigma methodologies and programs, and ensure the efficiency and quality of all production jobs. Troubleshooting production jobs, managing employee conduct and performance in accordance with company policies, and establishing and controlling departmental budgets and forecasts are also key responsibilities. Furthermore, the Production Manager will support and maintain the company's quality policies, work with the Quality department to design and implement quality awareness and improvement programs, and ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety guidelines. Conducting performance appraisals and monitoring timesheets for production personnel are additional duties that fall under this role.
