About the position

As the Production Manager at AmeriChem Systems, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the manufacturing processes of custom fabricated systems. You will be responsible for maintaining project schedules, ensuring that all fabrication processes adhere to quality standards, and leading a team of shop employees. Your leadership will be crucial in developing the skills of your team and ensuring that they are well-equipped to meet the demands of the production floor. In this role, you will coordinate quality control processes related to material handling, in-process inspections, and final testing of completed systems. You will work closely with project engineers to ensure that all project requirements are met and that production goals are achieved. Additionally, you will support the Facility Manager in maintaining shop equipment and ensuring that preventative maintenance schedules are followed. Your ability to manage resources effectively and maintain adequate shop supplies will be essential in meeting production demands. The Production Manager will also be involved in continuous improvement initiatives, supporting developmental projects that enhance the organization and production floor efficiency. This position requires a strong understanding of custom fabricated equipment, including pumps, valves, piping, and instrumentation, as well as the ability to read and interpret structural drawings and programming languages. Responsibilities

  • Manage all shop employees, scheduling, & prioritizing allocation of resources for project fabrication
  • Adhere to and coordinate Quality Control processes related to material handling, in-process fabrication inspections, and final testing of completed systems
  • Maintain overall project production
  • Support, develop, coordinate, and provide training for shop personnel
  • Work with project engineers to ensure all project requirements are met
  • Support Facility Manager with all shop equipment preventative maintenance schedules & requirements
  • Maintain adequate shop supplies for workload
  • Support continuous developmental projects for the organization and production floor
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned by direct supervisor and management team

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BSME, BSEE, BSChE acceptable)
  • 2-3 years of experience in fabrication or manufacturing
  • 5 years of production management experience (preferred)
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to read & understand structural drawings, Piping and Instrumentation Drawings (PID), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, PLC programming language (Allen Bradley / Siemens)
  • Knowledge of welding and proper assembly and manufacturing processes for machine building
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Highly developed technical competencies
  • Highly adaptive to new concepts and techniques

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with project management software
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project
  • Experience in assembly and programmable logic controllers
