About the position

The Service Operations Support Manager in Training at CarMax is responsible for managing and leading associates to achieve production targets while ensuring exceptional customer service. This role involves overseeing inventory control, conducting performance observations, and participating in the hiring and development of team members. The manager will also support various operational teams and ensure compliance with risk management and safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead associates to achieve production targets and maintain inventory levels.
• Conduct informal and formal observations of associates.
• Communicate expectations and provide feedback to associates.
• Participate in the screening/hiring and development of associates.
• Maintain key performance measures and execute continuous improvement efforts.
• Assist with the development and execution of production plans.
• Ensure proper inventory levels of materials and equipment using the supply ordering system.
• Provide support to sales, business office, and purchasing teams as needed.
• Ensure compliance with risk management, loss prevention, and safety guidelines.
• Handle customer concerns efficiently and courteously.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years management experience in a complex, fast-paced environment.
• Ability to manage a team to achieve production goals.
• Proficient in reading, interpreting, and transcribing data to maintain accurate records.
• Demonstrated ability to multi-task effectively.
• Strong verbal communication skills for dealing with customers and associates.
