The Production Manager at Cook Incorporated plays a crucial role in establishing directions and goals within one or more manufacturing departments. This position is responsible for ensuring compliance with internal procedures and external standards, while also ensuring that adequate resources are available to meet delivery standards for both internal and external products. The Production Manager interacts regularly with Operations Management to support the global business direction and identify areas that require improvement. This role is pivotal in maintaining the operational efficiency and quality of the manufacturing processes. In this position, the Production Manager is expected to maintain a first-hand understanding of the state of the department(s) by spending an effective amount of time on the floor. This hands-on approach allows for timely updates on work order status and the evaluation of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to productivity. The Production Manager is also tasked with recognizing, developing, and utilizing natural leaders within the team, ensuring that employee performance issues are addressed, and corrective action processes are implemented as necessary. Furthermore, the role involves driving quality and efficiency improvements across the department. The Production Manager provides clear direction and guidance to ensure that expectations and goals are well understood by all team members. A critical aspect of this role is to ensure that work is completed in a safe, sanitary, and orderly environment, promoting a culture of safety and compliance. The Production Manager must also ensure that the area functions effectively, even in the absence of leadership oversight, and support audits, investigations, and tours within the department. Continuous improvement is a key focus, with the Production Manager initiating actions to enhance quality and efficiency while adhering to the Quality Management System and its processes to meet FDA 21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
