The responsibility of a Production Manager is to oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. They ensure that the manufacturing process runs smoothly, efficiently, and meets the company's quality standards. The Production Manager is also responsible for managing staff, optimizing production schedules, and ensuring that health and safety guidelines are followed. This position reports to the CEO. The Production Manager will develop and implement production schedules to meet production goals, adjusting schedules as needed in response to changes in demand or production issues. They will supervise and manage production team members, including hiring, training, and conducting performance evaluations. Ensuring that staff adhere to company policies and procedures is a critical part of this role. Additionally, the Production Manager will identify opportunities to improve production processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. They will implement lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies, ensuring that products meet quality standards and specifications. Regular safety audits will be conducted, and corrective actions will be implemented as needed to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations. Monitoring production costs and implementing cost-saving measures will also be part of the responsibilities. The Production Manager will prepare and present production reports for senior management and make mechanical adjustments or repairs to equipment as necessary. Analyzing production data to identify trends and areas for improvement will be essential to the role, along with other duties as assigned by the Manager.
