About the position

The Production Manager at Gotprint.com is responsible for the efficient oversight of our digital print and packaging manufacturing facility. This role is crucial in ensuring that production runs smoothly and meets quality standards. The Production Manager collaborates with various departments to troubleshoot workflow challenges, manage schedules, and maintain a safe and organized workspace. A key aspect of this position is fostering a spirited team culture, which involves resolving employee concerns and promoting a motivated workforce. The Production Manager is also tasked with enforcing safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free environment, scrutinizing orders to meet production standards, and leading employees to achieve productivity goals. In this role, the Production Manager will prioritize and manage urgent production needs, often referred to as "Rush Jobs," while maintaining inventory and directing forklift drivers to prevent delays. Daily task completion and maintaining a clean workspace are essential responsibilities. The Production Manager will also contribute to safety initiatives, supervise employees, and implement company policies to ensure consistent practices across the board. Evaluating and hiring new employees to build a skilled workforce is another critical function of this position. The Production Manager will inspect products for quality, ensuring they meet specifications, and collaborate with internal departments to resolve customer service and quality issues. Accurate documentation and record-keeping are vital, as is reporting workplace hazards to maintain a safe environment. The role requires compliance with safety rules and the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Comprehensive training for employees is also a key responsibility, ensuring effective onboarding and development. The Production Manager will attend department and company meetings to facilitate open communication and alignment within the team.

Requirements

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in supervising, motivating, and leading employees in a print or packaging manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with digital printing equipment (HP, Durst, Elitron, ZUND, Scodix, etc.).
  • Proficiency in general computer usage.
  • Strong reading, writing, and listening skills.
  • Mathematical and analytical aptitude.
  • Effective communication and clear instruction-giving.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accountability.
  • Flexibility, multitasking, and teamwork.
  • Excellent attendance record.
  • Adaptability in changing and stressful environments.
