About the position

The Production Manager at The Judge Group Inc. is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing the production operations in Warren, Pennsylvania. This position requires a dynamic individual who can effectively manage a fast-paced work environment while ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards. The Production Manager will directly supervise Shift Supervisors, the Mixing Room Supervisor, and the Lead, ensuring that all team members are trained and equipped to meet production goals. The role emphasizes the importance of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and operational excellence, with a focus on maintaining productivity standards and minimizing downtime through collaboration with the Maintenance team. In this role, the Production Manager will be accountable for safe work practices and the overall productivity and output of all production departments. They will champion the company's goals, policies, visions, and values, ensuring that all employees and supervisors adhere to GMPs and meet established production rates. The Production Manager will also be responsible for leading, coaching, and mentoring team members, as well as carrying out disciplinary actions when necessary. This position requires a strong emphasis on operational excellence, balancing efficiency, adherence to schedules, downtime, and quality to achieve optimal results. The Production Manager will play a crucial role in fostering a culture of safety and quality within the production departments, serving as a role model for human safety and advocating for food safety practices. They will be expected to maintain high standards of productivity while navigating the challenges of a high-volume, high-SKU environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and management skills, exceptional communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving and strategic thinking.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for safe work practices
  • Accountable for the productivity and production output of all production departments
  • Champion company goals, policies, visions, and values
  • Ensure all general employees and Supervisors are following GMPs and meeting set rates
  • Effectively lead, coach, mentor, and carry out disciplinary action when necessary
  • Maintain Operational Excellence at desired levels factoring in efficiencies, adherence to schedule, downtime, and quality
  • Work closely with Maintenance to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and carry out disciplinary action when necessary

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to learn and apply new concepts and overcome obstacles with change
  • Previous exposure to high volume, high SKU environment
  • Ability to work shifts as required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with auditing preparation and guidance
  • Familiarity with quality system standards, including GMP requirements
  • Good decision-making ability

  • Excellent communication and delegation skills
  • Champions food safety, HACCP, and SQF
