About the position

As a Production Metal Plater at East Side Plating, you will play a crucial role in the plating process, responsible for dipping customer parts in and out of tanks to apply various metal finishes. This position requires a keen attention to detail and adherence to safety guidelines, as you will be handling chemicals and operating machinery in an industrial setting. You will be expected to check and maintain the pH and temperature of the plating tanks, ensuring they are at optimal levels throughout your shift. Additionally, you will be responsible for keeping tank levels topped up and ensuring that all plating equipment is clean and properly maintained. Your role will also involve moving parts through various process steps according to work instructions and work orders, making adjustments as necessary to meet customer requirements. You will track and record work order information in the computer system, and your ability to perform visual inspections on parts prior to plating will be essential to prevent potential quality issues. You will also conduct coating measurement thickness inspections on plated parts to ensure they meet customer specifications. The position requires physical endurance, as you will be lifting racks with parts weighing up to 25 lbs. repeatedly throughout your shift and maintaining mobility while standing and moving. You will work in a fast-paced team environment, receiving direction from others and collaborating to achieve quality and productivity standards. Your commitment to safety and dependability is paramount, as you must not pose a risk to yourself or others while performing your duties.

Responsibilities

  • Check and maintain the pH and temperature of various plating tanks at multiple points during the shift.
  • Keep tank levels topped up to proper operating levels and ensure that all plating equipment is clean and properly maintained.
  • Move parts through various process steps according to work instructions and work orders, adjusting as needed to ensure customer requirements are met.
  • Make recommendations for improvements and assist in designing and manufacturing racks, fixtures, and masking used in the plating process.
  • Track and record work order information in the computer system.
  • Follow safety guidelines and achieve and maintain quality and productivity standards.
  • Maintain an acceptable dependability level and ensure safety for self and others.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform visual inspection on parts prior to plating to prevent potential quality issues.
  • Ability to perform visual and coating measurement thickness inspection on plated parts to ensure parts meet customer specifications.
  • Ability to lift racks with parts up to 25 lbs. in and out of tanks repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Ability to maintain endurance while standing and moving throughout your shift while carrying racks of parts.
  • Ability to work around various chemicals in an industrial setting.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English with a demonstrated ability to follow written and oral instructions, multi-task, and work well with others.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and receive direction from others.
